The Public Isolation Project made me wonder is new media making us more social or less?  How does this impact the arts?  Feel free to tweet, skype, youtube, or meet me in person to discuss.

well it depends on what you view as a threat in your life and what you consider good company the advantages of entering adebate with some psycho who usually emphasisdes a point with words or spit in your face is something better on a social madwork but the disadvantage is those little human signs we have used to profile people are lost in the vortex and abyss already created by celluloid screens
Net working-neck working.
Not working!
Hi John, I mulled this over on this cold and snowy day..

In all consideration are you social when you meet people or do you truly anticipate the person online could be just like the one on your screen. Perhaps we can dream a little from our 'motion picture' view of life. Another interesting thought is perhaps unconsciously we are a habitual slave to financial growth and dependence, so a primal counter reaction would be not to work but socialize in small ways and regain a quality of life that has been left out of the industrial world. For me I can catch my breath for a moment while someone else may wish to compare notes.
In this years sale's environment (Nov 2010) I found about 1 in 10 from probably several thousand people, looked me up with their hand held device to learn more about my work, now if I was willing to spend strategic time developing attractive sales hooks for my pieces, I might improve my chances, although I would much rather have a face to face conversation and not just be told or ordered to perform for the contract of money. Having something online for people to look at does provide a sense of confidence that there is an introduction to what you are looking at in a live setting and I have made the effort to represent myself publicly and online so as to provide some depth for those who wish to research. One things for sure, we're not going back and the future of information is unifying and unknown. Politically we will see governing bodies become more splintered as variety in humans shows no boundaries and effective manipulation to control large groups for selfish gain will diminish, I pray we have a more peaceful and inventive world. The internet was conceived by some very ambitious individuals who perhaps understood humans right and nature to communicate and learn, we all can contribute to this evolution of combined knowledge to bring us reasoning for our very existence, our stories are perhaps the only thing we can take in our soul into the unknown.
Thank you for reading.

A 'soul', in certain spiritual, philosophical, and psychological traditions, is the incorporeal essence of a person or living thing. …Wikipedia
I thought the internet was invented by Al Gore! (I kid). I think I see where you are going with this. For example, we probably never would have spoken to each other without social media. Now, not only are we discussing the pros and cons of new technology online, but the potential exists to meet in person someday. At the same time it provides another avenue for people around the world to learn about Mellon Glass. Hard to see the negatives in this context.........
I see a new dynamic and depth emerge beyond the chatter and toilet jokes in social media:

It's all what you/we make it.
with all due respect, a google search will explain where Wikileaks is as many opposed powers try to suppress the information released.

a little festive 'flash mob', that fills the heart,
