Aziz, I was in KL about a year ago and had a wonderful time! Wish I would have known about the Museum of Asian Art, I definitely would have stopped by. Can you tell us anything more about the ethnographic artifacts of Orang Ali? What type of artifacts are on display and what are there significance? Thanks
Hi John. Most of Orang Asli artifact in Museum of Asian Art collection's are mask, created by Mah Meri group of Orang Asli. We got over then 100 masks called as "Moyang" or ancestor among them. Its made from wood. Some in good condition, some quite bad due to the decay of the wood. Other collection of Orang Asli are tree bark cloth and pandanus weaving. tq.
