What are the temptations that take you away from making your art? Is there a moment in the day or the week where you say to yourself, "I really don't have time for this", but still do it? How do you overcome temptation and is it critical to be able to focus to be creative? My temptation right now, is watching the World Cup... I'd better go, France are playing!

Temptation as part of the process, I like it.
hello varsha how are you? zul from Malaysia, now in California from my fulbright for 6 months, trying to do book and teach and make work.
Well, sometimes ... I just let temptation overcome me Nico, LOL, that's okay, life is about many things, I don't call goofing off temptation, I call it inspiration.
I know when I get a neckache, get frustrated because I can't get a drawing or paintiing exactly like I want it, then it's time to take a break.
My breaks are getting up and dancing, washing clothes, dancing some more ;>) reading from one of the 10 different books I have laying around my house on a given day, yeah ... I pretty much have attention deficiet disorder :>) LOL, but they can keep their drugs, because I have Art, music, reading ... LOL
Oh yeah, I hate housework, but it has to be done so every once in a while I do some of that, and feel like the greatest housekeeper on Earth! LOL
Hi Cheryl, sorry about replying to you here in a forum, but for some reason I'm not able to reply to people's comments on my art pages, nor even on their comment page. (technical glitch or old computer?)
Anyway, thank you for all your wonderful comments on my work! I wrote more specific replies out, but guess there's no way to send them and I shouldn't post them here! Anyway, thank you for your enthusiasm and light and friendship, and energized interactions with so many artistas! Hugs, Julie

I think if you force yourself too hard for any thing, especially creative work, the quality will worsen. So, it's better to get things done and then come back to your creative activity. I personally, paint or work only when I'm inspired or in the mood!
