Dear Ravinder,
It's very important to be trained in art. But don't stop yourself from creation just because you're not trained. Some of the best poets and composers in India in the past were not only untrained but illiterate too!
Thanks for your reply :-)
I can never stop myself even if i'll think so...... U can see my work i have uploaded my painitngs here
but yes u r rite... will look forward to get trained....
I think it's important to be trained too neha, to become more proficient. I've people say that when they did get proficient, the joy for it sometimes died.
If You can have both now, that is awesome! :>)
Ya gotta have heart, right?
Illiterate, that is fascinationg, well, there lies the proof of Artist's create Art, because they are innovative, and just for the sheer love of it, and they never hear the word, "no," as in you have no degree to do that, that makes them even more determined to do it, right?
I am not an artist (wellI write) but I am in contact with many visual artists here in Zambia and many of them have not had formal training. I will say though that some artists I have met felt they really progressed when working with someone who could teach them. There is a very interesting movie about this called 'Local Colour'. I highly recommend it.
Thnx for recommending this movie, will surely watch it !!!! :)
I think its more important to have courage in creating art, that means taking creative challenges whether its the white canvass, the film, or the dance floor. It also takes courage to learn. I think that there are a lot of benefits you can get from training but I also like to do it beside my own personal experiments with art -without instructions. A good balance of both would be great. :)
Very well said......
First it needs to be in you and then it can be enhanced further .......
I liked your view. It really takes courage to express your creativity.
Hey
Well I personally think art is something that comes from within and can't be created forcibly from outside. You can learn the techniques but the creation is all yours. So I think its not necessary to be trained in it. After all somebody can spoon feed you but can't make you digest the food. Though I'm still not such a good artist but I would never want to get any training. But its just a personal opinion.
Thanks for spending some time to give out your opinion :)
Molly, thanks for replying and sharing your experience... :)
