I would like to hear about what people think is "therapeutic" about art.
What sort of things do you do to communicate your feelings. How do people use colrs, textures and styles to "get the message out? What sort of tools do they find most "expressive"?

I have recently developed a way to communicate with old people suffering from dementia with the help of music, dance, movement and soft fabrics, (that should be light enough for even a weak person to move and make dance - like chiffon, silk or organza). I have witnessed the most amazing happenings; people who have been stuck in a wheelchair for years have found their movements again, people who have been wordless have started to sing and people who haven't communicated at all visibly have started to laugh and showed clear indications of what their will is. Magic! It all comes from not trying to achieve anything, but trusting the moment and finding the "yes" in myself and others. Curiosity and love! And music.
