Scholarships available for African, Caribbean and Pacific countries - e-Learning Course on Social Media Tools - Application Deadline 4 July 2011

In the framework of their collaboration aiming to jointly develop a series of learning programmes in the field of knowledge management, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have developed the course Innovative Collaboration for Development, an e-learning course on social media tools.

 

UNITAR is pleased to announce the opening of registrations of a special session, taking place from 25 July to 23 September 2011. A maximum of 40 participants will be accepted in this session.

 

Scholarships available for African, Caribbean and Pacific countries

 

The Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) will grant a limited number of scholarships, covering the full course fee of EUR 600, exclusively to candidates from African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

 

Interested candidates must complete the scholarship form and submit it when completing the online application form. The number of scholarships is limited (maximum 30) and a selection process will take place.

 

Note that applicants from other countries may also apply on a full-fee payment basis. The course fee in this case is USD 850.

 

Application and Fees:

 

1) For ACP country candidates applying for a scholarship:

 

Successful candidates who are awarded a scholarship will be advised accordingly some days prior to the start of the course. If you do not hear about the outcome of your scholarship application by the course start date, please consider that you were unsuccesful in securing the scholarship in this instance.

 

2) For applicants from other countries:

 

The course fee is USD 850. Please note that no fee waivers apply in this case.

Youth Fellowship for Meditation Retreat in Thailand!

Date of the Retreat: 8-21 December 2011.
DEADLINE to apply: September 30

The fellowship includes:

  • full or partial sponsoring of airfare,
  • free accommodation,
  • free catering,

  • free meditation retreat fee.

The Candidate need to:

  • Be 18-30 years old at the time of submitting the application;
  • Have good proficiency in written and spoken English language;

Free Travel Abroad for High School Students and Educators: Apply now for World Savvy's 2012-13 American Youth Leadership Program with Bangladesh

Explore the country and culture of Bangladesh through this fully funded program. The program includes:
• Pre-trip workshops and orientations;
• Exploration of cross-cultural affairs and climate change in Bangladesh through one month of travel (tentatively from Dec . 16, 2012- Jan. 11, 2013); and
• Post-trip follow-up through social action projects in home communities.

WHO will go:
• Thirty U.S. high school students (between the ages of 15-17) from the regions of New York City, San Francisco, and Minneapolis-St. Paul
• Five U.S. educators from the regions of New York City, San Francisco, and Minneapolis-St. Paul

The American Youth Leadership Program (AYLP) is funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and World Savvy, and administered by World Savvy. All applications are due April 16, 2012.
