Hello NYC Culturalistas! During the day I work as the program director of the Asian American Arts Alliance, an arts service agency that has been here in NYC for 28 years. A year and a half ago I started a
series of monthly Town Halls for artists and arts workers to come together, share news, announce events, learn about grants and find collaborators. It's a potluck and great fun. People who want to speak get 2 minutes to pitch so everyone can get a slot of undivided time. We can show video and images and folks sometimes perform excerpts of their work too. It's a really good opportunity to learn about what is happening in the Asian American artistic community in NYC and to make great connections within the community and across cultures. We've had more than 1,000 people, from individual artists to funders, presenters, arts service organizations, non-arts orgs, etc...
So here is an invitation to you to join us. The next one is tomorrow morning, Tuesday at 10am at Chen Dance Center in Chinatown (70 Mulberry St). More info here: http://aaartsalliance.org/page/town-hallHope to see some of you tomorrow--
Nico
