FAQ

General

How is Create Culture different from other web sites for artists?
Create Culture connects you with artists in New York and around the world for a behind-the-scenes experience of local cultures. It's intention is to foster meaningful exchange among people who want to share artistic experiences locally and on their travels towards making the world of tomorrow a better place- by inspiring others, solving issues, bringing new perspectives and collaborating.

Getting Started

How do I add my photos or my art work on Create Culture?
There are two places you can add images and art work:
1; in the image gallery (best for art work)
2; embed them in a blog post (best for photos and travel-related images)

If you are adding your images in the image gallery, please add them into "Albums". Click here to get started and follow the easy-to-use instructions. You will see that you have the option to upload images from your computer, from Flickr, by email or from your mobile phone. Remember that these images have to be yours and that the more information you add about them- titles, descriptions and tags- the easier it will be for people to find them and be able to know what they are looking at.

For photos, embed these into a blog post. Provide contextual information and/or use them to illustrate a point or an experience that you think others will find interesting and enriching. We won’t publish the blog post if it only comprises images and no text. Be sure that your blog post conforms with all blog guidelines.

How do I add my videos to Create Culture?
NEW: We now ask you to please embed your video into a blog post. This will mean lots more people will see it than simply adding it into the general video bank. If you embed it in a blog post, it will need contextual information and/or should be used to illustrate a point or an experience that you think others will find interesting and enriching. We won’t publish the blog post if it only comprises the video. Be sure that your blog post conforms with all blog guidelines.

How do I add my music to Create Culture?
The simplest way to add your music to Create Culture is to click on the drop down menu item called "Quick Add" at the bottom of the top right hand corner box that starts with your profile name. Click on "Music". A dialogue box will let you upload your tracks from files on your computer or type in the URL of your MP3. Click "more options" to get the "Flash Uploader" that enables you to upload up to 100 tracks at once. The tracks will show up on your page, and you can edit the name of each track. Remember that you need to have ownership of the rights to these tracks.

Ownership

Do I retain control and ownership over my uploaded content?
Yes. Create Culture does not claim any ownership rights in your content. After posting your content, you continue to retain ownership of your content, and you continue to have the right to use and license your content in any way you choose. For more information, see the full Terms of Service.

We'd like you to stay, but if you feel the need to leave the Create Culture network, go to the homepage; in the box in the upper right where it has your name, click on “Settings”. On the Settings page, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click the link at the bottom marked "Leave Create Culture". Thank you for your participation - and remember that you can always sign up again (and we'd love to see you back one day!)
