I recently moved to the rocky cliffs near the ocean and shores cluttered with blue-purple, broken shells of Northern mussels. The fog rolls in anytime of the day or night and this painting reminded me of that. Big ships glide into the harbors and small ships vanish in the mystery of the fog. This is a wonderful depiction.
