No, sorry, i don't have any recommendations on that one. if you want my honest opinion? I'm not sure a degree makes any difference when you get out into the real world. In the real world you need to be able to 'get something…

Walkin' The Line

My shadow, somewhere in southern Utah, on a empty road, red rock country, and the moon above my head? Purrrfect!

I've enjoyed some of the same great road trips in California. Can definitely see the influence in your art work. Where were you located in D.C.? I was raised in Arlington where my parents still live.

Profile Information

My Role
Artist
My Discipline(s)
Visual Arts, Digital Arts
About Me And My Work
Advertising art director, Freelance architectural photographer, Freelance photo-illustrator, B&W darkroom montage printer for both commercial assignments and fine art work, digital photo illustration, web design, digital printing/color-tweaking for fine art giclee prints.
In spite of all this digital stuff?... I still love the B&W darkroom!!!
Places I Would Like To Visit
I like road trips, in California & the US southwest - Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Mojave preserve, Salton sea, and all the places in between. I took a great trip last Xmas to Nevada, Las Vegas in particular, to take in the Red Rock Canyon just west of Vegas, and 'Valley of Fire" mostly to see petroglyphs. I've also explored the California and Oregon coast, from the Umqua Dunes, Oregon to just south of San Francisco.
Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With
Uh... none, really.... but I wish my drumming chops were as good as they were 35 years ago, and I could step into Keith Moon's place, in the Who, when he passed out...
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
Waaaay too many to mention! Everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Dali, David Lynch, Keith Jarrett, Bierstadt, Ansel Adams, Jerry Uelsmann, Robert Misrach, Albrecht Durer,.... I lived in Wash DC for 20+ years, and there is a LOT to see in DC.
My Artistic Affiliations
none, in the real world, thank goodness!... but plenty of pages in various art/photo websites

My tools

The "Apps" thing doesn't include any of my tools.. but they are: Photoshop & Dreamweaver for digital/ software.
As for hardware (real B&W film cameras) I use a Pentax 6x7, mostly w/ the 55mm lense, and an old Yashica D TLR. I used Agfa B&W 100 ASA 'til Agfa died... I can live with Ilford FP - still souped in Rodinal (1:50), which is still available. My enlarger is a Beseler 45MX with a cold light head made by Zone6, bought in 1983. The B&W montage images in my portfolio here are all done in a darkroom, nothing digital about them, except the scan.
