About Me And My Work
Catherine Aselford has acted or directed at Cherryred Productions; The Shakespeare Theatre; Source Theatre; Horizons Theatre; The Center Company; New Works Theatre; Washington Theatre Wing; Notorious Women Productions; and The Georgetown Theatre Company, of which she is Artistic Director. She has appeared in John Waters' A DIRTY SHAME, Cherryred's silent movie TRAPPED BY THE MORMONS (google it -- it's real!), West Wing, Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted and numerous television commercials. Plays she has directed for The Georgetown Theatre Company include John Middleton's The Changeling, Milan Kundera's Jacques and His Master, Carlo Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters and John Morogiello's BUSHWA. Last July, Catherine directed two shows in the Capital Fringe Festival; The Conjurer Meets the Devil and Paradise, Lost? as part of Night of the Living Theatre . . . by Dead Playwrights for the Georgetown Theatre Company and Ninja Motorcycle Babes for Notorious Women Productions. In Fringe 2008, Catherine directed Three Murdered Clowns for Century 21 Theatre and produce The Girl In The Iron Mask for The Georgetown Theatre Company. This year, for Fringe 2009, she will direct John Morogiello’s Jack The Ticket Ripper for The Georgetown Theatre Company, direct Jason Ford’s GS 14 and perform in Mather Theatre’s Pepe The Mail Order Monkey. Catherine holds a BFA in directing from The Catholic University of America.
