Places I Would Like To Visit
I just returned from Thailand in January. Six months in Chiang Mai, Thailand was amazing! I experienced meditation at a temple for three weeks, became a student of Thai massage for three months, and then explored for two months enjoying myself there. I had wonderful relationships with the local Thai people, as well as travelers from around the world.

In South Korea I had the chance to work on the Daegu Photo Biennale 2008, an international photography festival. This was the first photography event in South Korea to involve guests and portfolio reviewers from around the world. As a project coordinator I helped manage the events and exhibitions, as well as dabbling in some graphic and event design.
Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With
Hm.... I believe its on you to make any collaboration a dream collaboration. There are people I have loved working with and always think it would be fun to mix my past co-workers.
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
My mother - This woman a working woman but also a craft monster. I grew up with her sewing and decorating everywhere. For Christmas, our city apartment was a thick forrest of green, decorations, and lights... and she is Buddhist! She is great.

Uncle Hajime - My uncle is a successful commercial photographer from Fukuoka, Japan. I admire him for his work, but I grew up amazed by his lifestyle. He has money, great taste, smart friends, a fantastic attitude, and a loving family. He is a definite role model of mine.

Bohnchang Koo - He is one of the most well known fine art photographers from South Korea. During a summer of my undergrad I interned with him and his team. I admire him for his beautiful art work and his diplomatic attitude towards spreading the arts and culture of South Korea. I had the chance to work with him again when he was assigned as the art director for the Daegu Photo Biennale 2008. Bohnchang Koo continues to be a mentor of mine.

Sunghwa Lee & Heejung Kim - If Sunghwa was working in a sewer in the middle of nowhere and called me to join in a project she was leading I would go in a heartbeat. If Heejung is part our team I know we have a fighter on our side, and let me emphasize FIGHTER on OUR side. Heejung is beautifully creative as well.

Jennifer Kinon - She was my art director when I was a design intern for NYC2012. Hands down she is the best boss I have ever had. NYC2012 was the campaign to elect NYC for the Summer Olympic Games in 2012. We were up against London, Paris, Madrid, and Moscow. London won the bid... no hard feelings. I am sure they will put on a great event. But back to Jen, she is amazing. In the insane environment we were in, she gracefully protected us (the design team) so we could do our job. She is a role model and mentor of mine. I am so happy for her, she joined Michael Bierut at Pentagram after NYC2012.

Erika Lee & Kristen Johnson - Players I worked with while being on the NC2012 design team. These girls are have started taking over already, are are going to rule the world!!!!!

Dave Eggers - I believe his 826 tutoring centers are amazing. I was taken by his speech for TED and volunteered at the 826LA West (Venice Beach) location. It was a fun experience putting together books filled with children's creative stories and essays. Tutoring students after school and helping out with workshops were rewarding as well. I believe education and the arts are very important for the generations to come!

Kenya Hara - He is a leading designer from Tokyo and I admire his past works and his success with MUJI. I enjoyed his lecture on "emptiness" and respect his message greatly. I plan to attend graduate school in Japan to pick up on a lot of the philosophy he represents.

I am looking for enthralled artists who would like to co-create this project in a responsible way and use these spaces in a constructive way.

Unoccupied churches have become common images in Western Europe and this situation is becoming more general. By the time these monumental spaces have always had a spiritual hand with art. They are very interesting architectonic constructions, for which a new function could be created, making use of these monumental spaces in favor of the free creative spirit, awe, eternity, which can be brought to life as an inspiring meeting place.

By using the unoccupied   for experiments, which avoids having to think in finished images from the beginning, different impulses may arise. Thus artists, but also interdisciplinary teams such as architects, artists and musician, could use this monumentality to develop new strategies. This also may serve as an angle of incidence and fulcrum for the European market. The power of creativity can generate impulses as to places that seem to be lost, it is our aim to fill  this emptiness with both hands.
