My Role
Artist
My Discipline(s)
Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Design
Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With
I collaborate with artists I respect sometimes but I'd really like to collaborate on an independent animated cartoon short with John Dilworth, the catalyst of my cartoon portfolio.
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
Favorite Artists - Dali, Picasso, Van Gogh, Alex Grey, John Dilworth,
John Kricfalusi, Edward Sorel, Greg Craola, Kandinsky

Influential Quotes -
"If you want to achieve piece of mind and happiness have faith, if you want to be a disciple of truth, then search" (Nietzsche)

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society" (J. Krishnamurti)

"God is not found in the soul by adding anything but by the process of subtraction" (Johannes Eckhart)

"The human species is the only species that has the ability to interfere with their own growth" (Fritz Pearls)

"Man is the only creature to inflict pain for sport knowing it to be pain" (Mark Twain)

"A person who thinks all the time has nothing to thin about except thoughts, so he loses touch with reality and lives in a world of illusions" (Alan Watts)

"Its just a dream, all matter is energy condensed to slow vibration. We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subconsciously. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves" (Bill Hicks)

"We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain. By its very nature every embodied spirit is doomed to suffer and enjoy in solitude. Sensations, feelings, insights, fancies—all these are private and, except through symbols and at second hand, incommunicable. We can pool information about experiences, but never the experiences themselves. From family to nation, every human group is a society of island universes."
— Aldous Huxley (The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell)

"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are" (Anais Nin)

"Why should man expect his prayer for mercy to be heard by what is above him when he shows no mercy to what is below him" (Pierre Troubetzkoy).

"It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment" (Ansel Adams).

"The earth we abuse and the living things we kill will, in the end, take their revenge; for in exploiting their presence we are diminishing our future" (Marya Mannes, "More in Anger," 1958),

"Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents. It was loaned to you by your children" (Kenyan Proverb)

"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing" (Albert Einstein)

"When a chimpanzee mother comforts her frightened infant,we say that she is behaving like a human ; when a human being resorts to insane violence,we say that he is acting like an animal. Perhaps it's the other way around..." (Wayne Grady)

Hi Dario,

Thanks for your comments. For me many cartoonists have been an inspiration but a few stand out, Jules Fieffer, Ed Sorel and Ann Telnaes.

Stay in touch.

I've already sold two of them despite the warning I gave the galleries and collectors. The purchasers are also highly process oriented - so they were willing to take a chance. I assume the low-price tag helped since I didn't feel proper to charge them a great deal for something that could ultimately be ephemeral.

Thanks! The paintings are basically self-destructing over a period of time which since enamel and turpentine don't mix. For the past six months or so I've been watching them change over time but I don't know how much they'll change or how long it will take. A true conservator's nightmare - but it's cool for me since it's like they're living.
