About Me And My Work
I am part of a tandem kinetic storytelling theater company, along with my wife/ life partner, Nancy Wang, in a company called Eth-Noh-Tec. It's modern storytelling blended with movement, theater, and music, drawn from Asian and Asian American sensibilities. Eth-Noh-Tec draws from ancient Asian mythologies and folk tales as well as contemporary biographical material from American experience and weaves them to create layers of metaphor blended with modern message.

We've been featured at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough TN, The Smithsonian's Discovery Theater and Sakler Freer Asian Gallery, Wolftrap VA, Kennedy Center's Millenium Stage (the solo show), and Presidential Inaugurations Celebrations of Pres. Clinton and Pres. Obama. Our stories have been heard on NPR "All Things Considered", as well as featured at NASA's Space Camp in Alabama. We've also been featured on international festivals and programs in Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines and Bermuda.
Places I Would Like To Visit
Both of us have travelled extensively in Philippines, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia. We lead cultural delegations through a project called the Nu Wa Storytelling and Cultural Exchange Project to Asia, and have created two projects, one in China the other in India.

The project consists of bringing together storytellers from different parts of the world, namely English-speaking, Western nations to exchange with their Asian counterparts. The activities focus on storyswap exchanges and cross cultural sharing. Our upcoming event will take place in China in Sept. 10-26 in the community of Gengcun, a 600 year old, traditional storytelling village.
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
My musical background spans mutli-Asian, multi-instrumental study (Kulintang gongs of Mindanao, Hichiriki or Gagaku Japanese Court Music; along with strong interests in Taiko drumming). Nancy's back ground is in theater and modern dance and some traditional Asian dance as well.
