About Me And My Work
Family taught artist, my hearitage reaches back to a time when it wasnt ok to be Native American. Art lived through that time, Learning silversmithing and weaving from my grandfather and mother at an early age, I now weave stained glass into the fields of creativity I tend to explore.
My childhood background is that of Wisconsin. Becoming an adult, I chose to relocate to Arizona, where I stayed for 12 years. The next step, New York. Here, I dwell in the Hudson River Valley from the backdoor. From the front door; New York City.
My art resume includes 83 shows and commissions dating back to 1996. The most recent solo show was at DeGrazia Gallery Museum in Tucson Arizona. This is a juried competition. The show, 'A State of Grace' ran from March 8-20, 2009 in The Little Gallery at the Museum. Presently, I am continuing my creative quest.
Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With
My dream artistic experience is to be represented by a leading art consultant, and/or art gallery. Part of the dream experience is to work in stained glass studios around the world. Visiting sacred cathedrals around the world, investigating the history of the stained glass, positioning of the design and architecture of the buildings where the stained glass is located around the world. I am currently dreaming about going to Paris in June this year and soaking up all of the Art one can consume~~!~ It's my first trip out of the country. I give thanks to my friends from New York who have moved to France for a year from New York City with their two young children to immerse them in French Culture and to learn the language. I live life moving forward into my dreams with the help of friends and angels. Anything is possible with the help of the etherial.
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
Creative influences were the churches I attended as a child, injecting my dreams into the stained glass windows as the mass was said in Latin (a language not understood ). My second influence was my family; watching Grandfather string beads on a loom. or grandfather filing wax, then casting into silver. Mother, a silversmith making creations of silver and turquoise. Then, various other artists: Georgia O'Keefe , Louis Comfort Tiffany, Ted DeGrazia, Gustav Klimt, Frank Lloyd Wright, Leonardo DaVinci, Henri Matisse, Frida Khalo, Robert Kostuck amoung a plethora of Holy Vessels that the Creative Spirit moves through in creating what is destine to be played out over time.
