Traveling to Ecuador: the people, the rituals and el pollo

Having lived in Manhattan for a number of years, I feel I am at least aware of Spanish culture. So, while this trip to Ecuador is both my first to the country and to South America, I am not without some devices. What art could possibly be beautiful at 4 AM?

I consider myself a morning person. But, not even the prospect of steaming hot chai motivated me at 4 AM. This was the time my friend in Kolkata decided we needed to rise in order to get to the flower market. This market is the main one that supplies Kolkata for festivals, temples, special occasions or just every day home prayers. Places I Would Like To Visit
I have been to the Mayan ruins in Mexico; the Taj Mahal; the pyramids and the World Trade Center. I have also experienced the underwater beauty of Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman, the Blue hole in Belize, Sipadan in Borneo and the shipwrecks of the Great Lakes. Art in Italy, New York, even in Boston. And yet, there are so many more places I want to go. The next trip is planned to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro

Don't know that I have one. Seems like opportunities come along in life and I take them. Why dream, when you can make it happen?
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
I am influenced and inspired by all artists. As a writer, I only recently considered myself an artist (my stick figures are not even something to brag about). But listening to music or going to an art museum is sometimes just the spark I need to get back to writing.
