About Me And My Work

Started a small business making hand painted cotton knit dresses. Trained women to work in their homes, sewing, drawing, painting. Created a line of canvas bags, in several styles, each one hand tinted and painted. Now in the Interior Design business creating custom made hand painted canvas floor cloths for homes, hotels and restaurants.

Places I Would Like To Visit

I have always wanted to go to Bali, because everything they do in their culture is art, from folding a banana leaf to hold food to putting offerings out on the street. The clothing, the carvings in their homes, the colors, the plants and landscaping, the preparation of food, they live and breathe art. I would love to go there and have it seep into my pores. I love the food and there's good surf too!

Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With

Every client is a collaboration. My art is not complete until it is placed in the designers total environment. My dream collaboration is perhaps a home or hotel where I can work with the vision of the designer and am able to see the end result of the entire design once it is completed.

My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists

Lisa Mair is my floor cloth guru. I learn from her every week. Our designs are different but with her 15 years making the floor cloths she is constantly learning new techniques and shares them.
My main creative influence is the natural beauty of Costa Rica, from the jungle, to the mountains to the live coral reefs, color and design are abundant in this jewel of a country.
