About Me And My Work
Tabla player/teacher and composer-over 30 years. Performed throughout the Americas and Europe. Co-director of Spoken Hand Percussion Orchestra, director of Lenny Seidman Tabla Choir, original member of Atzilut. Music collaborator and performer with Rennie Harris' "Facing Mekka" international tour. Also performed with Zakir Hussain, Simon Shaheen, Kenny Endo, I Dewa Berata, Elio Villafranca and countless other musicians and choreographers/dancers from the Asian and African diasporas. Residencies at APPEX and Headlands Center for the Arts. Studied tabla with Zakir Hussain, Ishwarlal Misra, Chotelal Misra, Kiran Deshponde and South Indian music with Adrian L'Armand. Guest artist @ Swarthmore College since 1998, world music and jazz curator @ Painted Bride Art Center.
