About Me And My Work

I am a NYS Licensed creative Arts therapist as well as a Psycotherapist, and my work in these fields has greately influenced my work as an artist. Through my art I explore aspects of character, relationships, and memory, as well as symbolic spaces, and personal history.

Artistic Experiences I Have Had On My Travels

In my youth I traveled extensively in Europe and North Africa. The experience of spending time in other cultures and viewing the increadible wealth of art to be found in these places has had a profoundly formative influence on my developement as a person as well as an artist. I guess I could sum it up as the relativity of all things.

Places I Would Like To Visit

Everyplace, any place. I always want to revisit the places that hold meaning for me and where I have made friends. Denmark, in particular is dear to my heart as I lived there for 4 years and return periodically to visit. I would love to travel around the USA one day. Mexico, India, and etc.

Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With

I am always interested in the art of non-western cultures to see other points of view. I would love to increase my comfort levil with using the computer to combine and generate imagery. I wish I could engage more with photography. Also quilting.

So many. Women- Mary Frank, Kiki Smith, Paula Rego, Loise Bourgeos, Marline Dumas, Joan Brown come to mind, but there are others. Men, RB Kitaj, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Fauves, Clemente, Max Beckman nd so many more.
