I will do that. People have recommended that I reach out to him to study daf with him. I know I'll end up doing that at some point since Pejman, my current teacher, travels and doesn't teach for long periods of time. I hear his style is…

About Me And My Work
Total music junkie, x-belly dancer, frustrated flamenco dancer who plays some classical piano (mostly Debussy, Satie, Chopin), currently studying Persian singing, daf (Kurdish frame drum) and the santour.
Places I Would Like To Visit
Trip in '07 to Israel with the Yuval Ron Ensemble. Met with other musicians, artists, peace activists, etc. and got a real sense for some of the grass roots efforts being made there to ease the conflict between Jews and Palestinians. Also traveled with Yuval to Morocco in '09 and met with a variety of different Sufi/Ganaouan brotherhoods. Once this repressive government is out in Iran, that's where I need to go next. Perhaps Turkey in the meantime, and tons of other places.
Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With
To have musical performance and collaboration between individual musicians and/or groups from diverse backgrounds serve as a conduit for intercultural exchange, dialogue and peacemaking.
My Creative Influences & Favorite Artists
Brahams, Mahler, Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, Cameron de la Isla, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Fairooz, Oum Kalthoum, Inti-Illimani, Zucherro, Lucio Dalla, and, well...too many more to mention right now!
