Refuse to employ manual labor

7.5.2012Low level employmentI always have conflicts, and sometimes they are really complex. The latest one that I seem to be aware of greatly is the servants’ issue. Should we have or not have servants? Why should a person do your dirty work that even you wouldn’t like to do? For eg clean your toilets, your used dishes, or look after a pukey, whiney, crying baby? I hate to subject a certain class of people to very lowly, menial jobs, and I always am very prompt in tipping my servants, a trait…See More

Gurudev's Birthday Celebrations 2012

8th May 2012 I attended the birth anniversary of Pujya Gurudev and was delighted to see a jam packed hall with honest, sincere and worthy practitioners and followers of his teachings. The video had the best stills of his past talks in which were included a five minute meditation session. The hall was A/Ced, hence rendering it comfortable; there was hardly any disturbance in the crowd or distraction, so the subject was easily followed. The beginning of his talk saw him talk about the importance…See More

This is why I visit ashrams...

I want to start this blog with the plea that those people who visit ashrams or have a spiritual bent of mind should not be condemned or termed different. I’ve been trying very hard to stand up to the prejudice that an ashram is a sad place where sad things happen. This is just not true. An ashram is a hygienic place, where you get good, healthy food and the hospitality is great and you get to meet some of the most independent, intellectual and knowledgeable people. It is also the only place…See More

Ah! Weddings!

21.4.2012 Weddings: Why do we attend weddings? A wedding is a great time to reflect on your status in life. If you’re single and want to settle, it is a good experience to watch how others go about doing the business. Weddings are also a place where you can let your hair down, meet family, take snaps that you will remember for…See More

Green NEW Year EVE2011

New Year Diary: 31st December, 2011 I had a great New Year at Goregaon’s Filmcity park, actually, more of a forest. It was with the BNHS, at the BNHS conservatory inside Filmcity’s premises. Luckily, after reaching late to be able to stay awake till 12 am, I really enjoyed my evening with families. Fortunately, for me, 4 other…See More
