writer, multidisciplinary performance/theatre artist -> emphasis on: original, artist-driven work for the stage; creating collaborative spaces; engaging in interdisciplinary performance work with a wide variety of people; acting, especially for the stage; arts education with folks of all ages and experiences - getting people, who say they're "not writers" to WRITE!; practicing art as a means for building community and collective consciousness in real, meaningful ways.
Places I Would Like To Visit
Ever grateful, i've toured with a traveling theatre company, a performance ensemble, and as a solo & collaborative artist and arts educator throughout the United States since 1996. We'll keep that going with current and new projects, as well as for study and practice and connecting with PEOPLE- and to where? EVERYWHERE!
Art Forms And Cultures I Would Like To Engage With
AH, great question. My dreams are infinite. At the moment, my dream collaboration is the beginning of many phases - working with a ton of API womyn in Los Angeles, moving to a diversity of womyn of color in L.A. in the second phase, then regionally throughout the U.S. and globally. It will involve writers, performers, visual artists and animators, filmmakers, and a creative use of the internet. Dream collaborations are also the ones we're creating here everyday...a challenging and beautiful process it is.
