Wayne is considered one of Australia’s leading Indigenous photographic artists with more than 100 exhibitions throughout the world including Berlin, London, Cairo, Paris, Vienna, Tokyo, New York, Jakarta, Mexico City an Australia.
His unique style encompasses the spiritual and artistic dimensions of Aboriginal culture and his art is transformed through traditional and modern practices including developing a world first technique that infuses the artwork with traditional ochre’s and plant dyes. He won the 2008 Human Rights Award for his work on the Apology, was recently nominated as a Master of Photography by National Geographic and a finalist in the prestigious Walkley Awards for his photo documentary on the Redfern Riots
