On Individualistic Spirituality

In my opinion, on some social networks there appears to be a tendency to avoid challenges altogether in order to protect beliefs.

The rationale seems to be that the intent of the challengers is merely to « make wrong, » and that those who challenge are just not « confident in their own beliefs. »

But what then if the intent is not to « make wrong » ? What if the intent is to shed a different light ? What if the prompting comes from the heart and not the ego ? What if the… Continue

thoughts on art and it's positive impact

I believe passionately in the positive impact that art has on physical and particularly on mental health and well-being.

I am also a disabled artist and would love to share thoughts on disability and it's impact on your art.   Has it "enhanced" your style?

I've come to believe that it has a unique influence on mine.

so…

Give of yourself and you will be rewarded.

Seems these days being an Artist can be a tough way to make a living.  At fifty my mid-section's a little thick than when I was in my 20's but I can relate otherwise as probably many who read this to the terms often heard of "Starving Artist."  I can honestly say that I would be lost not being able to create and work with my mind as well as hands as is so gratifying and keeps me at peace with…

struggle for sound

I've been despicably quiet.

This (more than any cut) has made my working here difficult; places that would normally have relished totally improvised music are more constrained and choosing safer options.

But around the world there seems to be signs of resurgence, a battle so to speak, against…

Heading South to improve my art??

I just spent a couple of weeks ago visiting my In-law's in ft. Myers, Florida.  They retired there a little over a year ago permanently and are enjoying life.  Being from Cleveland we'll get the usual conversations over the phone with keeping up with them being told that it's in the 80's and us having to…

Brazilian Heart

Brazilian Heart  JULY 2011

This last June I decided to celebrate my birthday spending a week in Española (New Mexico) practicing Kundalini yoga and meditation. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget.  One morning at around 2:45am when I was walking and singing with my teacher and other yogi friends, I couldn’t hold my tears and cried like a baby. Some white turbans reminded me of my mom’s white veil she used during mass.  I looked at the starry night and found out I was…
