Revisited - What trips are you taking in 2010?

It's halfway through 2010. My how time flies. We've gone through a winter, a nice spring, and now a very hot summer. At the beginning of the year we had many great trips planned you may remember. We wrote a blog post to highlight some of the places we were planning on visiting and the great things we were doing to visit in these places. Well it's July and these plans have changed slightly.....Instead of checking out the music scene in Senegal we took in some street art in Argentina (so 2008, I know New York Times!). It doesn't look like we will make it to Cuba, but Vancouver was extremely nice and the U.S. allows us to go there legally-a nice bonus. We were able to make it to D.C. for the Folklife Festival and have high hopes that trips will be made to Baltimore and Philly before the year end. Anyway, it's been a great year so far and we are looking forward to the rest of 2010. More dispatches to follow.

Where have you traveled this year and what of the arts have you taken in?

My husband and I are off to Scotland, The Netherlands, Belgium and Northern France. We'll be delving into family history, checking out art and architecture and touring WWI battle sites and memorials. Rob's in charge of the Scotland and Netherlands parts of the trip, I'm organizing for Bruge and the WWI sites. I've been researching about WWI for years and want to explore how I might incorporate this interest into my artmaking.
