Summer Solstice is here! How are you celebrating?

Bonfires, sacrifices, feasts and strange celebrations: it must be Summer Solstice!

I am looking forward to Make Music New York's full day of concerts across New York City to celebrate the longest day of the year. I don't think anyone will be burning anything, but you never know in New York. What's happening where you are and what are you planning to do?

Here is a selection of images to get you in the mood (the photo at the top is of a bonfire in Finland):

Stonehenge, UK (people stay overnight to see the sun rise above the stones)

Fete de la Musique in France (concerts all day and night in towns and cities across the country)

People in Krakow, Poland, wear hand-made wreath of flowers called "wianki" as they head to the Wisla River (thanks to Culturalista Margaret Kruszewska for a great photo album)

Happy Summer Solstice!
Nico-

Cool Nico! I was not aware of all the free music today...
It's my birthday! I plan on taking a bike ride, eating watermelon, and seeing my mom.... At least to start.

Hope everyone has a beautiful day!!!
