
Inspiration
Sema Thai Marionette is a marionette troupe of moral support and the ways of living economic sufficiency guidelines who we had the activities for the benefit of society, the youth group and family always. We have seen the importance of creating awareness on the value of Thai farmers and rice Thailand because in the current society young people don’t receipt knowledge and they don’t see to importance about the value of rice. They were lost respect for farmer unlike people in the past to focus on farmers most.
Therefore, we have conducted a marionette show on “Don and Makhwid the Conqueror” by have the content to enhance their understanding about principle the philosophy of sufficiency economy in terms of integration through a new story created in a musical marionette show. We have already seen the importance of conservation of Thai songs in the past; Folk song, String music and Country song with content relating to Thai farmers. For children’s are experiences the genius, and meaning of these songs to stimulate young people and new families take an interest in the consumption of Thai rice and awareness on the value Thai farmers.
The Thai marionette show is organized this show in such a small area of habitat and It can support the audience not over 50 peoples per show. We were sell ticket minimum price by a non-profit or to obtain donations to visit follow the agenda of the show. The income from the show to support develops of Thai marionette Art and activities the social development for youth and family.
Synopsis: Don and Makhwid the Conqueror
Don is a man who has full of dreams. He likes to imagine that one day the world will be filled of good things. Every day he likes to walk in the fields thinking about himself as a knight conquering evil so that everyone says ‘Don is a simple-minded’. One day he meets a big buffalo named Makhwid who has no opportunity to work because modern technology has replaced him in the traditional farm. Buffalo Makhwid feels sorry for this change making his owner to have a heavy and not being able to sell him to others. Makhwid goes away from his farm. Don understands Makhwid’s feeling very well. Both of them like adventures and so they go out together for seeking answers to the sufficiency by having “Ko” is a boy who dreams of becoming farmers but adults find that he was stupid that him think so. They have journeys to the Impossible Dream and seeking common solutions to challenge injustice as Don has dreamed of.
